Jamabandi Punjab: Punjab Government has successfully taken back 850 acres of village land in Dadyal, Dasuya block, Hoshiarpur, which was unlawfully occupied. This is now the second-largest piece of government land to be reclaimed from illegal possession. Laljit Singh Bhullar, the Minister of Rural Development and Panchayats, led the effort to get the land back.
Bhullar mentioned that the reclaimed land is valued at more than 170 crore rupees. Out of the total 1,013 acres, 115 acres were voluntarily returned, while the remaining 49 acres are still undergoing legal proceedings. Bhullar assures that the cases will be resolved, and any unlawfully occupied land will be released.
Last year, the department recovered 11,442 acres of land, including 9,030 acres valued at 2,709 crore rupees. This year, the government has already reclaimed 2,412 acres of land from illegal possession. The Minister encourages people to voluntarily give up unlawfully occupied land for the benefit of the state.
